This long-standing lesbian club attracts an eclectic, laid back clientele. The small dance floor and pool tables in the back make it an intimate and comfortable spot, although sometimes the place gets very crowded.

    Oldest Lesbian Bar in the USA!

    Phase 1 is Washington Dc's ONLY lesbian bar and the oldest in the nation! Men are not allowed into the Phase only with a female escort. Phase 1 has many themed nights. Every 2nd Sunday of every month the Dc Kings (Drag Kings) perform for 5 dollar cover. Friday and Sat nites are great dance nites. The Phase is small and can get packed with lesbians rather quickly. Bartenders are AWESOME and so are the Djs. They have a pool table and a back patio. In the summers they have Bar-b-q's with all you can drink keg beer. Check out "Slut Nite" parties, these are benifit parties at Phase 1 for the Annual PhaseFest show that takes place in early fall.... A 3 day music showcase of queer artists(locally and national). 21 and over all the time. no dress code. good mix of queers all packed in for a grand time!
