Fodor's Review:
In the District's Logan Circle neighborhood, the Helix combines attitude with colorful hospitality. The theme here is fame, with blown-up photos of pop culture figures ranging from Martin Luther King Jr. to Little Richard. Lava lamps, psychedelic prints, and other objects create a back-to-1965 effect. Some suites have bunk beds and flat-screen TVs. Wireless access and an evening champagne hour are included. The Helix Lounge serves American comfort food such as grilled cheese sandwiches.
