The backlighted, amber bar and birch-log wall create a warm and natural look at this showcase for contemporary American bistro food. Start with roasted beets and goat cheese or roasted turnip soup. More standard comfort food includes a grilled pork tenderloin with Dijon mustard, and roast chicken with bacon-braised cabbage and prunes. The small wine list, made up mostly of California boutique labels, is well chosen and priced fairly.

A delightful 'find', located off Dupont Circle in an apartment/condo area near GW. 'Dressy-casual'; a good place to relax, drink, eat dinner or 'light' late night fare. Some standard seating, some more like a dining area/lounge. Good drinks. Cost is closer to $$-$$$.
