Home to Washington's chic set, ESL's unmarked visage might be intimidating, but this multilevel club's array of sofa-filled hardwood coves makes it seem like the city's chillest house party. On the top floor, jazz musicians often entertain loungers seated nearby. Fans of techno music flock here, because it's the home of the ESL record label and the renowned DJs who make up Thievery Corporation.
