Smithsonian Institution Review
Throughout the year the Smithsonian Associates sponsor programs that offer everything from a cappella groups to Cajun zydeco bands; all events require tickets and locations vary; for a memorable music experience, try to catch one of the performances in the museum's third-floor Hall of Musical Instruments, where musicians occasionally play period instruments from the museum's collection. The Smithsonian's annual summer Folklife Festival, held on the Mall, highlights the cuisine, crafts, and day-to-day life of several different cultures. (Texas, Wales, Colombia and Bhutan are among the most recent ones to have been featured.)
