Concerts, The Mall
Fodor's Review:
Jazz, musical theater, and popular standards are performed in the National Museum of American History. In the museum's third-floor Hall of Musical Instruments, musicians occasionally play period instruments from the museum's collection. The Smithsonian's annual Folklife Festival, held on the Mall, highlights the cuisine, crafts, and day-to-day life of several different cultures. The Smithsonian Associates sponsors programs that offer everything from a cappella groups to Cajun Zydeco bands; all events require tickets, and locations vary.
