Washington, D.C. Nightlife

Smithsonian Institution Review

Throughout the year the Smithsonian Associates sponsor programs that offer everything from a cappella groups to Cajun zydeco bands; all events require tickets and locations vary. For an especially memorable music experience, try to catch one of the performances in the National Museum of American History's third-floor Hall of Musical Instruments, where musicians occasionally play period instruments from the collection. The Smithsonian's annual summer Folklife Festival, held on the Mall, highlights the cuisine, crafts, and day-to-day life of several different cultures.
