Fodor's Review

As the city's population of upwardly mobile strivers migrates north, so do affordable, crowd-pleasing gems like this outpost for huge bowls of soothing (or spicy, depending on your preference) Vietnamese noodle soup. Standing-room only crowds for the watermelon-size servings of beef, vegetable, shrimp, or chicken eased after the owners doubled the size of their dining room and opened a spinoff location in the nearby Adams Morgan neighborhood. Hearty banh mi sandwiches

and stir-fries are worthy choices if pho soup doesn't appeal. Suggest this to the Washingtonians you're visiting and watch them be impressed by your local prowess.
