Fodor's Review

A recent redesign added bar seats while giving the once old-school Taverna a more modern feel that doesn't sacrifice its warm elegance. Lamb, beef, chicken, and seafood are available grilled on skewers, while salmon and vegetable platters crown nutty, hearty pilafs. A group can make a meal of the mezes—a mix of appetizers and shawarma roasted meats, and salads—especially during the 4–7 pm happy hour, when several are $6 or under and hummus is "endless." The original location is in suburban Virginia, but this younger sibling has become better known.
