Fodor's Review

The boisterous chatter in this warehouse of a dining room may make for a less-than-calm dinner, but crowds are buzzing with good reason over their fresh sashimi and succulent grilled meats. For pleasing prices, the izakaya side of the restaurant turns out smoky wood-fired skewers of salmon, mushroom, duck sausage, and more. Smooth tuna tataki and a spicy snow-crab tempura roll rule the raw-fish menu, and rare Eastern liquors such as Choya Kokutu dark rum make for clever cocktails. Teens will get a kick out of this breath of chic air in the often staid D.C. dining scene, and the twenties crowd will appreciate the late-night hours.
