Winvian Review

Opened in 2007 by the owners of Vermont's swanky Pitcher Inn, this ultra-posh, 113-acre hideaway adjacent to the grounds of the White Memorial Foundation consists of 19 of the most imaginatively themed and luxuriously outfitted cottages you'll ever lay eyes on. Each of the huge one-bedroom cottages has a distinctive, often amusing, theme: the Stone Cottage is made with massive boulders and has a wavy-slate roof and an enormous fireplace; the Helicopter Cottage contains—you guessed it—a genuine 17,000-pound U.S. Coast Guard helicopter (the fuselage has been refitted with a wet bar). Bathrooms are consistently big, with deep whirlpool tubs and top-of-the-line amenities. Rates begin at an eye-popping $1,250 per night, though all meals, snacks, and even the wet-bar goodies are included. On-site is also a full-service spa.
