Stepping Stones Museum for Children

Fodor's Review:

Except for the ColorCoaster, a 27-foot-high mechanical toy in constant motion, the exhibits at this museum are not permanent, but they are always educational and encourage hands-on exploration. Popular exhibits are Rainforest Adventure, where kids under 10 can climb a kapok tree or explore a gorilla's nest, and Waterscape, where they can learn about weather and even role-play as weather reporters. For kids 3 and under, there's Toddler Terrain.

  • Cost: $9
  • Open: Sept.-June, Tues. 1-5, Wed.-Sun. 10-5; July and Aug., daily 10-5
