New Haven, Mystic, and the Coast Restaurants

Barcelona Review

There's no need to take a transatlantic flight for authentic Spanish cuisine when you can feast on tapas right here in New Haven. This place delivers in both dining and decor (think a 2,000-bottle wine cellar, open kitchen, and massive wall-sized mural of a Spanish bullfighter). There are entrées on the menu, but the tapas are a better bet: the chorizo with sweet-and-sour figs offers an intensely rich bite, the organic greens with goat-cheese croquettes nicely balances tastes and textures, and the gambas al ajillo (sautéed shrimp with garlic, sherry, and guindilla peppers) are full of flavor.
