Fodor's Review

Opened in 1876, the Peabody, with more than 11 million specimens, is one of the largest natural history museums in the nation. In addition to exhibits on Andean, Mesoamerican, and Pacific cultures, the venerable museum has an excellent collection of birds, including a stuffed dodo and passenger pigeon. The main attractions for children and amateur paleontologists alike are some of the world's earliest reconstructions of dinosaur skeletons.
