The Slater Memorial Museum & Converse Art Gallery, on the grounds of the Norwich Free Academy, houses one of the country's largest collections of Greek, Roman, and Renaissance plaster casts of some of the world's greatest sculptures, including the Winged Victory,Venus de Milo, and Michelangelo's Pietà. The Converse Art Gallery adjacent to the museum hosts six to eight shows a year, many of which focus on Connecticut artists and craftsmen as well as student work.
