The emphasis of this 34-story hotel is on luxury. As you enter, towering red cedar trees (simulated, but realistic) form a canopy above you, gleaming glass and birch-lined walls surround you, and a stream and pool of water lead to the impressive Taughannick Falls across the lobby in the connecting Shops at Mohegan Sun. Guest rooms are large—a minimum of 450 square feet—and all have king or queen beds and marble baths. The 22,300-square-foot Elemis Spa is one of the finest in the state. Pros: numerous fine restaurants and gaming areas are steps from lobby, incredible views from upper floors, excellent spa and fitness center. Cons: not much reason to stay here if you're not a fan of casinos.
