Kids can learn the ropes—literally—of what it takes to be a sailor during Mystic Seaport's many sailing classes and camps.Younger children and those who just wish to stay onshore can sign up for courses on building boats (including how to varnish them), blacksmithing, carving, as well as, you guessed it, roping (from knotting to splicing). The Seaport's planetarium also offers instruction on navigating a ship by the stars. Prices for classes vary.
