Children's Museum

Fodor's Review:

A life-size walk-through replica of a 60-foot sperm whale greets patrons at this museum, formerly known as the Science Center of Connecticut. The museum also includes a giant walk-in kaleidoscope, a wildlife sanctuary, and real-life images "beamed" in from NASA, plus exhibits on earthquakes and special software in the center's computer lab that will let even the youngest visitors feel like experienced Web surfers.

  • Cost: Museum $8, laser and planetarium shows an additional $3 each
  • Open: Tues.-Sat. 10-5, Sun. noon-5
