Part of the rehabilitation project at the historic Richardson building, the all-suites Residence Inn is convenient to Pratt Street, Hartford Stage, and the Old State House. Rooms come with a kitchen, microwave, refrigerator, and coffeemaker, and there's an on-site 24-hour convenience store. A full breakfast is included daily, as is a light dinner buffet Monday-Thursday. The on-site City Steam microbrewery is a fun spot for a drink or a hearty meal. Pros: spacious rooms, great value, right in middle of downtown. Cons: right in the middle of downtown, cookie-cutter furnishings.
