For a quick, but nevertheless indulgent, bite, the Met is a fine choice après ski or as a mid-shopping nosh break. The wine and tapas bar looks like a foodie cafeteria, complete with a wine fountain that dispenses three pour sizes of several vintages. Make a meal of a few small plates, with the bright, fresh aguacate picado, a deconstructed guacamole, with chunks of avocado, tomato, onion, and diced jalapeño. The butter-poached Maine lobster tacos, with ancho chile cream and pico de gallo are not to be missed. Note the colorful cocktails, including an Asian pear mojito and Spicy Beaver, a blend of tequila, cilantro, lime, jalapeño, and agave nectar. The restaurant also is one of the few nonhotel breakfast options in Beaver Creek and contains a high-end espresso bar that uses Colorado-based Dazbog Coffee beans.
