St. Elmo Hotel Review
This 1898 hostelry was originally a haven for "miners down on their luck," or so the story goes. Its original owner was Kitty Heit, who apparently couldn't resist a sob story, and her family ghosts reputedly hover about protectively. The rooms are graced with stained-glass windows, marble-top armoires, brass or mahogany beds, and other antiques. The complimentary buffet breakfast is served in the sunny breakfast room, and daily wine-and-cheese receptions are held in the cozy parlor. There's an outdoor hot tub and sauna. The Bon Ton, on the lower level, serves Mediterranean cuisine.
