Allred's
Allred's Review
Unless you're planning some serious hiking, the only way to reach this sky-high eatery is via the gondola that connects Telluride with the Mountain Village. The view is understandably awesome, as are the meals. Choose from a selection of steak, chicken, and seafood, then add a mouth-watering sauce—a fondue made with goat cheese and leeks, for example, or an Argentinian-style chimichurri. Other menu offerings include roasted Colorado lamb chops and pan-seared elk loin. The drink menu is simple but elegant, with a nice selection of wines and champagnes, as well as vintage cocktails and modern martinis.

We made a reservation through the conciege at the Inn at Lost Creek on 01/28/09 for an 8:30 dinner time on 02/01/09. (This was Superbowl Sunday). We got off the gondola, only to find that Allreds was closed. No notification to the concierge. We proceeded into Teluride and went from restaurant to restaurant unable to get in. I made sure to tell everyone working in these restaurants what Allreds did. We ended up at Cosmo's where we had a great meal. Turns out the "team" at Allreds decided to close without telling Corporate about it. Restaurant owners in Teluride were shocked to find out what had happened. The wait staff at Cosmo's said we were the third party they had had in the restaurant that this has happened to. Stay away from Allreds. All they had to do was contact the concierge to say they were closing but there wasn't a word. I hope Corporate fires the people that made this decision. We are frequent visitors to Teluride and will NEVER give Allreds our business again! And believe me, I'm going to let everyone know about our experience and I'll be sure to repeat it everytime I'm in town.
