Roudy Roudebush rode through America's living rooms courtesy of a memorable television commercial in which he and his horse, Cindy, trotted right up to the bar at the New Sheridan Hotel. Roudy is now riding Cindy's son, Golly, and you can join them. His slogan has long been "Gentle horses for gentle people, fast horses for fast people, and for people who don't like to ride, horses that don't like to be rode." Ride with Roudy (970/728-9611. www.ridewithroudy.com) is in a barn on an old ranch 6 mi from Telluride. Trail rides pass through aspen groves and across open meadows with views of the Wilson Range. Winter rides leave from Roudy's other ranch, in Norwood. Hour-long rides cost about $35.
