The competition has heated up in recent years, but Alpenglow Stube remains among the finest mountaintop restaurants in Colorado. The exposed wood beams, a stone fireplace, and floral upholstery make it elegant and cozy. At night, the gondola ride you take to get here alone is worth the cost of the meal. Dinner is a six-course extravaganza, starting with the signature pinecone pâté, followed perhaps by rack of caribou in a pear-liqueur sauce. Lunch is equally delectable, with excellent pasta specials. Remove your ski boots and put on the plush slippers reserved for diners.

What a fun and beautiful restaurant. A little pricey but totally worth it. Excellent staff, awesome food, and the view is worth it alone. In my view probably one of the most interesting restaurants in summit county. Both me and my date really liked the slippers you got to wear during the dinner, it made you feel so cozy. The night we were there a couple got engaged, the whole atmosphere is very romantic. The night gondola ride is fun, but as they warn you, dress warmly.
