Several routes through Grand Junction are well suited to bicycle use. The city also has designated bike lanes in some areas. You can bike along the Colorado Riverfront Trails, a network that winds along the Colorado River, stretching from the Redlands Parkway to Palisade. Bike travel between towns in this region is discouraged due to the prevalence of narrow, shoulderless two-lane highways -- due as well to the sheer distance between the towns. Several shops rent state-of-the-art bikes by the day or longer.
