A cavvy is the pick of a team of horses, and this restaurant is a favorite in town, for the price. Its coffee shop atmosphere is enlivened by mirrors, hanging plants, faux-antique chandeliers, and masonry of the 1900s fireplace of the Baker Hotel (which burned down on this spot). Hearty breakfasts, homemade pies and ice cream, burgers, pork chops, and anything deep-fried (try the mesquite-fried chicken) are your best bets.
