French doors on each of the spacious cabins open into pure, thin air perfumed by the pine forest of the mesa. The decor inside the lodge, built in 1956, changes with the season, but remains comfy. The restaurant ($$-$$$) has a diverse menu. The modern cabins, heated by propane fireplaces, have kitchenettes, microwaves, coffeemakers, and hair dryers. Each cabin's deck has a table, chairs, and an umbrella, as well as an outside grill with picnic table and fire pit. Pros: pay cash and save $20-$35, cabins have secluded feel, hot tubs are delightful in cooler temps. Con: it might be too remote for some.
