Fishing in Rangely
Kenney Reservoir. Just below Taylor Draw Dam, Kenney Reservoir draws anglers in search of black crappie, channel catfish, and rainbow trout. The best fishing is right below the dam. If you hook one of Colorado's endangered pikeminnow, you'll have to throw it back. You can also go camping, boating, waterskiing, wildlife-watching, and picnicking. Locals come to the reservoir to watch the sun's last rays color the bluffs behind the lake. Rangely, CO, 81648. www.rangely.com/fishing.htm.
Town of Rangely. The best mountain-biking trails north of town are in the Raven Rims, named in honor of the abundant population of the large, noisy birds that live in the area. Contact the Town of Rangely for trail information. 209 E. Main St., Rangely, CO, 81648. 970/675–8476. www.rangely.com.
