Steamboat Springs and Northwest Colorado: Places to Explore

Meeker

Once an outpost of the U.S. Army, Meeker is still a place where anyone in camouflage dress always remains in fashion. Famous for its annual sheepdog championships—a sheepdog statue keeps watch over the sleepy town—it remains a favorite spot for hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. Interesting historical buildings include the Meeker Hotel on Main Street, where Teddy Roosevelt stayed.
