On the National Register of Historic Places, this wonderful red-sandstone building dates from 1902. The walls are two feet thick, so the builders obviously expected it to last a while. Rooms are filled with period antiques, and many have beautiful arched windows. Four rooms have whirlpool tubs. In summer, you can opt to stay in the inn's romantically refurbished "Candlelight Caboose," a converted train car with a private hot tub. Full breakfast, afternoon tea, and a wine
and cheese social hour are included, or you can opt for a lower, no-food-included hotel rate.
