Old Firehouse No. 1 Children's Museum Review
The Old Firehouse No. 1 Children's Museum is in the delightful Old Firehouse Number 1, with displays of fire-fighting memorabilia, such as a 1936 American LaFrance fire truck (children love clanging the bell) and the city's original fire alarm system. Upstairs is a fine re-creation of an early 1900s schoolroom. This a favorite with the kids, but call ahead to make sure they're open—or to schedule a tour. Their regular open hours, in the summertime only, are sporadic.
