Before leaving downtown, meander through the four rooms of the Buena Vista Heritage Museum. The falling-down miner's cabin and pretty carriage outside give a hint of what's in the building. Each room is devoted to an aspect of regional history: one to mining equipment and minerals, another to fashions and household utensils, a third to working models of the three railroads that serviced the area in its heyday, and the last to historical photos.
