The road up to this transcendent series of cascades is touted as the "grandest mile of scenery in Colorado." That's an exaggeration, but the red-rock canyon is stunning—though no more so than the falls themselves, which plummet into a tiny emerald pool. A set of 224 steep steps leads to the top, but there's an elevator, too. Hours vary seasonally, so it may be wise to call ahead.
