$$$$, Hot Sulphur Springs
Fodor's Review:
Considerably more down-to-earth than many other Colorado guest ranches, Latigo has a caring staff that helps create an authentic ranch experience. You can test your skills as a cowboy on a cattle drive or an overnight pack trip. The ranch also organizes white-water rafting excursions. Children's programs are tailored by age group, and the "Ute Scouts" overnight camping trip is a popular outing geared specifically to 6- to 10-year-olds. Accommodations are in comfortable, carpeted, one- to three-bedroom contemporary log cabins fitted with wood-burning stoves. Although providing fewer amenities than comparable properties, the ranch offers views of the Indian Peaks range, complete seclusion, and superb cross-country trails. Remember to bring your own beer. Pros: stunning scenery, quiet and secluded area. Cons: somewhat long drive from Denver, no nearby restaurants or other attractions.
