This historic house was nearly a casualty of Black Hawk Casino by Hyatt construction, before owners Hal and Karen Midcap had it moved to the banks of namesake Chase Creek. The Yankee and Sleepy Hollow rooms are done up in contemporary Victorian style with lace curtains and pastel walls, while the attic Polar Star room has Mission-style furniture. There's also a gas fireplace and access to a private hot tub on the first floor. Pro: get a real feel for life in miners' times. Con: almost all of the nearby restaurants are in big casinos.
