Tucked into the woods on the way to Devil's Thumb Ranch, this rustic retreat is a bit off the beaten path. Your reward, however, is complete relaxation. The lodge rooms, many with beamed ceilings and four-poster beds, have private balconies overlooking the forest; breakfast—perhaps peach-and-pecan pancakes or an apple, bacon, and brie frittata—is served in the handsome lodge or in bed. The secluded cabins—stylish, not rustic—have a fireplace and small kitchenette. Pro: after an exhausting day of skiing you can book an hour with the on-site massage therapist. Con: it's a 10- to 15-minute drive to get into Winter Park.
