Hotel Monaco

Fodor's Review:

Celebrities and business travelers check into this hip property, which occupies the historic 1917 Railway Exchange Building and the 1937 Art Moderne Title Building, for the modern perks and art deco-meets-classic French style. The unabashedly colorful guest rooms, in vivid reds and yellows, have original art, custom headboards, glass-front armoires, and CD players. The service is similarly a cut above: Room service is available around the clock, pets are welcome, and guests without pets are given the complimentary company of a goldfish. The hotel's mascot, a Shih Tzu named Hercules, hangs out in the lobby during the day. Pros: one of the pet-friendliest hotels in town, welcoming complimentary wine hour, central location. Con: pricier than some options.
