Just north of downtown in the regentrified Clements historic district (some of the neighboring blocks have yet to be reclaimed), this inn made up of adjacent Victorians is a delightful, romantic getaway. Both houses have handsome oak wainscoting and balustrades, vaulted ceilings, numerous bay or stained-glass windows, and period furnishings like brass and canopy beds, cherry and pine armoires, and oak rocking chairs. The best accommodations are the four "gallery suites" dedicated to Audubon, Rockwell, Calder, and Remington. A full breakfast and afternoon tastings of Colorado wines are offered daily. Pros: lovely rooms, welcoming hosts, hearty fare. Con: not right downtown.
