$$$, Downtown
Fodor's Review:
During the Victorian era this hotel was an elegant fixture on the Denver landscape, and civilized touches like complimentary shoe shines, afternoon sherry, and morning coffee remain. The charming and comfortable rooms are furnished with French- and English-period antiques and the Cruise Room bar re-creates an art deco ocean liner. Art galleries are nearby. The popular McCormicks Restaurant ($$$) serves excellent seafood and a delicious Sunday brunch. Pros: prime LoDo location, beautiful historical setting, great restaurants on-site and nearby. Con: noisy, ballpark crowds in-season turn LoDo area into a big party.
