The Denver outpost of this Texas-based chain has spacious, elegant rooms with sophisticated furnishings (some with fireplaces) and warm colors, all built within the confines of the 1906 former American Bank Building. Breakfast is included, as is an evening guest reception; drink coupons for the jazzy, retro-hip Harry's Bar; and late-night cookies and milk. One block off the 16th Street Mall, the Magnolia is well situated for downtown and LoDo conveniences. There's also an on-site Starbucks. Pros: pretty, comfortable rooms, nice complimentary breakfast, good restaurants. Con: although classy, can feel like a generic chain hotel.

You can't beat this hotel for the price. Terrific breakfast was included. The concierge got us into a fabulous restaurant when we didn't have a reservation during Denver's annual "restaurant weekend." Workout room more than adequate, and their car took us to the spa so we didn't have to take a taxi.
