Fodor's Review

The menu, written on a chalkboard on the wall, changes daily in the austere but inviting Il Posto (The Place), where chef/owner Andrea Frizzi cooks intricately layered Italian dishes based on what's fresh. Two risotto dishes are offered daily, along with a handful of pastas, a few fish dishes, and one or two meat-based meals. Get anything with foie gras, nasturtiums, or fennel—all of which can be easily paired with the eatery's focused and well-priced Italian-only wine list. The bench-style booth seating along the wall is the most comfortable, but hipsters prefer the communal table in the middle. In temperate weather, try for a sidewalk seat for people-watching over 17th Avenue.
