Fodor's Review

Close to Larimer Square, the theaters, the 16th Street Mall, and the Colorado Convention Center and with unpretentious, comfortable rooms—downtown hotels don't get much better than this. The Grand Hyatt underwent a $28-million remodel in spring 2013, adding Colorado details to the rooms, such as bison prints and aspen-gold and sky-blue tones, and enlivening the lobby with a bar scene backdropped by stacked fireplaces in the walls and granite communal tables. It's worth the $75-per-night upgrade for the Grand Club–level concierge floor for evening snacks and beverages and an elaborate breakfast spread. Pub 17 on Welton Street ($$$) serves three meals daily, including an eclectic mac 'n' cheese, as well as more than 50 Colorado microbrews on tap and by the bottle. Meanwhile, Fireside, The Bar ($$) serves fancy cocktails and upscale snacks like pork belly tacos and lamb chorizo in lettuce wraps. The well-equipped fitness center overlooks a small pool, which opens onto a sundeck with city views, and the roof is configured for tennis and running.
