Red Lion Inn. A local institution for natives and travelers, this beautiful inn is a few minutes up Boulder Canyon from town. The stone walls and potbellied stove in the bar make it a cozy place to wait for a table. For a feeling of the Alps, ask to be seated in the original dining room -- with its fireplace, antlers, Austrian murals, and white napery. The newer, modern dining room has outdoor views. The Red Lion is revered for its excellent game: wild boar, quail, or fillet of buffalo. Start with wild game sausage, then try the elk or caribou steak.

It appears to me Mr. Mosh's experience here was an anomoly, because I have been there over ten times and ten times I have had a fantastic meal and time. Yeah, It's a little pricey, but hey, treat yourself once in awhile, and there is no better place to do that then here. The spring and summer seasons are the best times to go. I'm heading there this evening for my graduation dinner and I couldn't be happier!
