Boulder and North Central Colorado Restaurants

Aji

Aji Review

Enjoy a South American cocktail like a caipirinha, mojito, or pisco sour before dinner in this busy restaurant. The storefront windows let in plenty of light, the seating is spacious, and the service is great. Try ceviche (shrimp or fish marinated in lime juice and served with fun accompaniments like banana, pickled peppers, or mango) or empanadas (savory pastries) to start. The presentation of entrées such as pumpkin seed-crusted trout, grilled duck breast, or steak stuffed with caramelized onions and garlic, is innovative and stunning. A chocolate empanada and a cup of French-press coffee round out a meal here wonderfully.

What a refreshing find in Boulder, which mainly has Eastern-oriented restaurants. The food is superb, my favorites being the chile poblano empanadas and the Brazilian seafood stew with jasmine rice. Yum! Great mojitos and Latin wine list. Atmosphere is fabulous (although sometimes the music is too loud) and quite Latin, especially when dining outside. Highly recommended.
