Architect Edward Suzuki designed this elegant and understated restaurant for his friend, Mr. Kim, the owner. Black granite tables, wooden flooring, an entryway made with imported Japanese tiles, and inverted white umbrellas hanging from the ceiling create a bright, stylish dining room filled with everyone from the young and hip to professionals. Kim is unwaveringly fastidious about the quality of both his food and his chefs, and the authentic Japanese kushi (meat and vegetable skewers), sushi, and sashimi are the evidence. For a starter, try the "Monkey Brains," avocado tempura with tuna and crab filling topped with roe. Don't miss the Yuzu (a native Japanese citrus fruit) yogurt for dessert.
