Gold Hill General Store

Fodor's Review:

Stop at the much photographed Gold Hill General Store, on the National Register of Historic Places, for a tasty, made-to-order sandwich and a bowl of hearty homemade soup before driving the last few miles to the Peak-to-Peak Highway. The green chile served with tortillas is excellent -- spicy and savory, but not so hot that you won't be able to enjoy a house-made pastry and espresso drink for dessert.
