Colorado Chautauqua Association Review

Imagine: a hike through the Flatirons, a quick shower in your cottage, dinner at the dining hall, a Josh Ritter show at the auditorium, and a drink back on your front porch with friends—an entire day of natural beauty without ever having to get in the car. The association was founded in 1898 as part of the Chautauqua movement and still fulfills its charge to provide a venue for recreation and cultural and educational enrichment. The upgraded, fully furnished lodge rooms and cottages retain their unique historic charm and include linens and cooking utensils (but not daily housekeeping). The lawn is a terrific spot for a picnic on a sunny afternoon. The property is in Chautauqua Park at the foot of the Flatirons; myriad hiking trails take you into the mountains right from your front door.
