Grand Lake Review
According to Ute legend, the fine mists that shroud Grand Lake at dawn are the risen spirits of women and children whose raft capsized as they were fleeing a marauding party of Cheyennes and Arapahoes. Grand Lake feeds into two much larger man-made reservoirs, Lake Granby and Shadow Mountain Lake, which together form the "Great Lakes of Colorado."
