Fodor's Review

About 10 miles from downtown Boulder, this humble log cabin, on the dirt road going through the former mining town of Gold Hill, hardly looks like a bastion of haute cuisine, but the six-course, $35 prix-fixe dinner is something to rave about. Entrées stick to a Western theme, and may include roast duck with raspberry sauce or leg of lamb marinated in buttermilk, juniper berries, and cloves. Portions are generous, but try to save room for dessert. Service is friendly and the inn also hosts regular "murder mystery" nights with professional actors in the adjacent Bluebird Lodge.
