This 1909 beauty beckons with a soaring stained-glass ceiling, mezzanine with romantic nooks galore, and large helpings of Victorian charm in its gracious lobby. When choosing a room, opt for the old building, for its spacious quarters filled with period antiques and reproductions. The new wing is plush and comfortable but has less Victorian character. Rooms with mountain views are available on request. The hotel has two restaurants: Q's ($$$$) features upscale dining, while the Corner Bar ($$) serves a less formal lunch and dinner. Downstairs, the Catacombs Bar is always hopping, and has a live DJ three nights a week. Guests have access to the nearby health club, One Boulder Fitness.

The Hotel Boulderado could not be better located in downtown Boulder. It has plenty of historic charm, personalized service and large rooms. It just a much nicer experience than going to one of the larger homogenized chains.
