Historic Rapids Lodge & Restaurant

210 Rapids La., Grand Lake, Colorado, 80447, USA

This handsome lodgepole-pine structure, which dates to 1915, is tucked on the banks of the Tonahutu River, and gives guests a dose of history amid a natural setting. The seven lodge rooms—each with ceiling fan—are done in the Rocky Mountain style with a mix of antique furnishings. The inn also has historic cabins, suites, and privately owned condos for large groups or families. The delightful Rapids Restaurant ($$$–$$$$) is Grand Lake's most romantic for fine dining, with stained glass and timber beams. Select a drink from the excellent wine list and enjoy it creek-side before dinner, then dig into the house specialty of elk medallions with fig-pomegranate compote.
