Viceroy Snowmass Review

Perched like a Tibetan palace overlooking the Roaring Fork Valley, the brand-new Viceroy Snowmass is the undisputed king of the village. This ski-in ski-out property eschews the Colorado lodge feel with a modern European take that includes sleek furniture and luxurious amenities like soaking tubs and zoned air-conditioning and heating (no more baking in the kitchen and freezing in the bedroom). The 7,000-square-foot Viceroy Spa has six treatment rooms, including Vichy showers and couple's massage suites. There's no reason to head back to the village for a bite after skiing; the on-site Eight K restaurant has traditional alpine fare in a beautiful room overlooking the valley. Chef Will Nolan's Cajun roots come out in the smaller "bite plates" like boudin balls in Creole sauce and crawfish hushpuppies. Locals love the $39 Sunday four-course family-style suppers, which include a carafe of wine or beer.
